我們附近：侯記鴨肉飯 Hou’s Duck Rice

2018年年底，拿著厚厚一疊資料去申請房貸。
銀行經理看著老屋的地址，說：「巷口的鴨肉飯很好吃喔！」🤓
然後貸款申請就通過了… 欸？

泥土藝術 的Nicky老師第一次來訪老屋時，正好鄰近中午用餐時間，於是我介紹巷口這家有名的鴨肉飯。正等她露出期待的眼神，我接著補充：「不過我不愛吃鴨肉。」，然後我就被她餵白眼了🥲

雖然店名鴨肉飯，其實我最愛他們家的豆芽。我經常帶著特大號的便當盒去外帶3份豆芽回家與家人享用，完全是台灣古早味的庶民美食。另外也推薦當歸湯米血，濃郁的中藥湯底，非常入味。

雖然我不是鴨肉愛好者，但偶爾也會受不了鴨肉飯的誘惑，白飯撒上切碎的鴨肉再淋上古早味醬汁，如果再配上一口香脆的黃色醃蘿蔔，更是完美！

侯記鴨肉飯的生意總是非常好，但無論多麼忙碌，一定維持整潔的店面和爐灶👍🏻
而且內用不用免洗餐具，對我這種自帶容器外帶的客人，也不會嫌麻煩，也是環保友善的店家唷～

Near the end of 2018, I went to the bank with a big stack of mortgage application papers. As the bank manager glanced at the address, he said, “There is a delicious duck rice at the end of the street!” 🤓 And ta-dah! The loan application was successfully approved. True story!

Although the name of the restaurant is duck rice, I actually love their bean sprouts even more! I often bring an extra-large bento box and order 3 servings of bean sprouts to-go to share with my family. It is indeed a traditional taste of Taiwanese delicacy. I also recommend rice blood cake in Chinese herbal soup, which comes with a strong angelica essence (a type of herb) in the soup base, sunk deeply in the taste of the rice blood cake (don’t worry, you won’t taste any blood, it is in fact a piece of rice-sticked-together).

Even though I’m not a duck meat lover, occasionally I can’t stand the temptation of duck rice. Rice sprinkled with chopped duck meat and then drizzled with old-style sauce. As you spoon up a bite, pair it with a piece of crispy yellow pickled radish… Yum!!!

Hou’s Duck Rice is busy from open to close, but no matter how busy it is, they alway maintain a tidy dine-in area as well as the kitchen at the storefront 👍🏻 They also don’t use disposable utensil for dine-in. Customers like me who bring our own containers can be troublesome for busy restaurants – but Hou’s staff never treat me with any impatience. Another BIG PLUS for being an environmental-friendly restaurant!
